The Telangana Government is modernising its irrigation sector by using drones, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and Internet of Things (IoT), Irrigation Minister Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said.
Speaking at the Drone Expo & Conference 2025 held at the Hitex Exhibition Centre on Saturday, Uttam stressed the state’s commitment to using technology to enhance water security, boost agricultural productivity and ensure rural development.
The conference, organised in collaboration with Rashtriya Raksha University and themed ‘Irrigation, AI, Space & Drones,’ brought together leading experts and innovators to deliberate on advancements in precision agriculture, rural infrastructure, AI-powered unmanned aerial vehicles, and the integration of drone technology with space-based remote sensing.
