Beautiful skin requires commitment, not a miracle. And keeping it simple and subtle has been the ‘funda’ offlate. Well, and so has it been for actress Sunayana Firdoz too.
Basically, her skincare secret has been to keep it simple and avoid much of the layering on the face. So, “whenever I am free and not shooting, I try to keep my face as clean as possible. Drinking a lot of water is actually my go-to tip because whatever you take inside is whatever shows outside, so water is the thing I feel that you should be consuming for great skin and hair.”
Well, moisturising has been one of her most important rituals. Something that she never misses! Managing her fitness and skincare, along with her fitness schedule, has always been a priority.
“I believe that if you are consistent, and in fact, it’s okay if you don’t give hours in a day to do it, but as long as you give it, probably like skincare for 10 minutes a day, just a simple moisturising routine, and fitness for at least 30 to 45 minutes a day, you do it every day. Consistency is the key even in a hectic schedule because I obviously don’t get time to spend hours on skin and fitness, but little by little, every day is the key.”
At the moment, as she gets time off her schedule, apart from her skincare and fitness, the Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah celebrity spends time with her baby cat, Mowgli.
Just like how a singer is required to do a riyaz, Sunayana also believes that an actor too needs a riyaz. “Since I’m not a trained actor, I haven’t been to any school; I started acting at an early age, and I have always looked up to work as a learning experience. There are times I have taken up roles or acting jobs that are not exactly what I wanted to do at that time because I don’t want to sit idol, but having said that, I as an actor have always been true to my job and any character that I have played, or I have given it my all because I feel sometimes you are cast for a cameo, and that has happened with me, and it ended up being such a fulfilling character that they’d extended the cameo for two years. I just feel you need to be honest with your character and job, so I haven’t done anything for the heck of it.”
At a time when social media plays a major role in any person’s life, especially those who spend much of their time in the public eye, she feels that when the platform is used correctly, it has a lot of benefits. For example, it is through social media that she gets to learn a lot from content creators and influencers.
Again, “I am obviously in a profession where I have to be presentable and look beautiful. It’s definitely not easy, I wouldn’t lie. I don’t wake up looking all godly, and Instagram obviously is about the good part; you end up seeing the rosy picture. There are definitely bad and tough days; after all, we are humans. Days where I don’t feel confident about myself, the way I look, I look fat, my hair is not looking good, and we have our personal lives as well. I think that is one of the toughest parts of my profession, where I have to keep that fall aside and be all out there looking presentable for my audience. Even on my bad days, I do a comedy scene. There are times when I am not going through the best phase of my life, but no one should know about it at work because that is not what is going to do justice to my role and scene. But then I have my people to rely on. When it comes to grooming, there are times when I let myself lose publicly by going somewhere. I am not always well-put. I don’t take that much load and just be myself most of the time.”
