Tamil film ‘Madha Gaja Raja’ was released after 12 years and it was a surprise hit. Vishal played the lead actor, while Anjali and Varalakshmi are the female leads. The film was supposed to be released in 2013, but because of some financial problems, it was delayed for a long time and released during Sankranthi festival. Now, the makers are planning to release the Telugu version of the film and both the leading ladies Varalakshmi and Anjali are promoting it in Hyderabad. The Telugu version is hitting the screens on January 31.
Talking about the film, Anjali says that she was surprised to see the film released finally after many years. “Vishal is a very dear friend to me and he worked very hard in this film. He is a fun person. I hope that the Telugu version is also a good success,” said Anjali.
For Varalakshmi this is her second film, but released now. “I was new at that time and now I have grown up as an actress, so there is a difference in acting. Though the film was delayed in the release I did very well and I am happy about it,” said Varalakshmi.
When one person asked her about Vishal’s health and when he came to this film function he was literally shivering and the pictures are viral. When asked about that, did she meet him after getting to know about his health? “He is now in good health and you are stuck with when he gets a fever. After that he participated in the success meet and he is very good now. Your question is irrelevant,” said Varalakshmi. She added that she learnt a lot from Anjali. “Anjali is a fantastic actor and I learnt a lot from her. This is my first commercial break as a lead actress and I played a western girl in it,” said Varalakshmi.
The film completed nearly 13 years back and if the same story comes to them, will they accept it now? “It depends on the director, if Sundar sir approaches us then we will definitely do it. It’s a complete entertainer and one can enjoy every scene,” said Anjali. The actress is disappointed as her ‘Game Changer’ did not do well, but her Tamil film is a hit. “Result is not in my hands. When a good character comes to me, I do and I promote it well. Though ‘Game Changer’ has not done well commercially, people appreciated it as a ‘good cinema’,” said Anjali.
