Thug-like administration prevailing in AP

Must read

TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu has criticised that the governance systems in the State have been severely undermined under Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s anarchic administration. He pointed out instances such as armed mining inspections in Martur and police collaboration in the destruction caused by rowdy mobs in Krosuru as evidence of a completely dysfunctional regime.
He added that the chaos instigated during granite industry inspections in Martur, involving thugs and deadly weapons, exemplifies the breakdown of the system. Chandrababu highlighted the incident where a senior mining department officer conducted an inspection alongside rowdies, and called it a clear demonstration of the thug-like administration prevailing in Andhra Pradesh.
He said that the police and officials should be ashamed for filing cases and arresting those who questioned this. He condemned the lack of action by the police in response to the attack led by an MLA’s son on public property in Krosuru. Questioning the silence of the State’s Director General of Police (DGP) regarding such incidents, Chandrababu suggested that the DGP resign immediately, asserting that the current state of the Police Department tarnishes its once esteemed reputation.
He criticised district Superintendents of Police (SPs) for failing to hold lower-level officials accountable for lawlessness. SPs unwilling or unable to enforce the law should swap their khaki uniforms for the YSRCP flag. Such incompetent officers are unworthy even of saluting alongside home guards. Officials should fulfil their duties in accordance with the law, the TDP chief added.
