After cult success of 2022 film DJ Tillu, actor Siddu Jonnalagadda is back with it’s sequel to entertain the audience once again with his quirky dialogues and fun comedy.
While Radhika from DJ Tillu has become very popular, this time Lilly is said to take over Radhika in this installment directed by Mallik Ram.
With Anupama Parameswaran playing the female lead, the movie is making loud noise everywhere as the songs and videos released from the film have gone viral already.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, the lead actor of the film, who is super excited and nervous about Tillu Square, spoke to the media persons here and expressed confidence that Tillu Square will be fresh in terms of characterisation and story.
The second part too is a crime comedy. Both, Siddhu and Anupama are said to have equal screen presence in the film.
Speaking to The Pioneer, Siddhu expressed that, in real life, he thinks very similarly to Tillu.
“Tillu is a confused person who expresses himself freely while I hold my emotions inside. Playing such a role, keeping my spirits up, and sharing my perspective on the world was freeing. His confusions provide amusement for others,” he shared.
Before going ahead with the interview, he expressed that he doesn’t want the audience to compare Tillu Sqaure with DJ Tillu while watching in theatres for a better movie experience.
To keep his character very authentic, the actor has not shot any other film since the first part was released, as they wanted to maintain the same looks of Tillu in both parts. He is not just a dedicated actor but also a dedicated writer too. For all his films, he is involved in the writing process, and for Tillu Square, he played a major role in writing. Siddhu feels writing his characters in the movie helps him understand the philosophy of a character better enhancing his overall performance. He continued, “You can easily comprehend the beats, rhythms, and pauses, especially in a movie like Tillu Square where a talkative character plays a crucial role. Being a writer also helps one better comprehend the arc of a tale while editing. I got along well with our editor, Naveen Nooli. Right now, I want to develop stories that will advance my acting career.”
Writing genius Trivikram has shared his piece of advice too for this film, as he is also one of the producers of Tillu Square, and Siddhu is thankful to Trivikram for his involvement, as his insights were very useful whenever he went in with the drafts of the scripts. Furthermore, he also expressed: “Though nothing is official yet, there are plans to turn Tillu into a franchise. Fortunately, I found a special point when I chose to create Tillu Square, and we proceeded. We’ll have to wait and see how our ideas develop, but we have a few.” However, he stressed that he will not jump into writing Tillu 3 immediately and that he wants to work on a couple of projects first, where he is just the actor. “I want to showcase a gritty side to myself and write a serious story. The screenplay for Nandini Reddy’s film is being written. It’ll go on floors after Bommarillu Bhaskar’s film. I want to wait and try genres,” he concluded.
