Recently, actress Tina Datta was at a crisis point. It was an obvious outburst in the controversial reality show, and intense stress came upon her. The one fortunate thing that happened while she was inside? The commendable actress was spotted by the south Indian industry, and here she is, all set to begin shooting for her debut film in Telugu. That brings us closer to knowing more about this refreshing face.
As soon as we spark the conversation, the actress, who already has a successful television career, was not seen on the screens for a very long time. Where was she? She explicated, “I was extremely panicky to make my comeback with a show like Bigg Boss. It can either make you or break you! I was invited over every year and I continued to decline the offer. Then, something rang my bell — if I have taken a career break, why not make it massive? Now, I am looking forward to the megashift.”
If one was a politician inside the house, another one was a viral rapper — and there was she taking ahead the acting fraternity. Nonetheless, how did she gel with individuals coming from extremely diverse cultural backgrounds. To which she replied, “The key word will be “calibrating”. It was getting difficult day by day! And, to stop yourself from being hypercritical. At the same time I had to tailor my communication to my fans through cameras. Only if done correctly can you advance in the show; otherwise, even the smallest error, such as a change in tone of voice, can irritate the viewers. This is what I learnt after my stint.”
To let you know what she was enjoying the most in the house, it was, “My exchange of dialogues with the Bigg Boss himself. Salman Khan continued to ask me, why do I want to do a one on one interaction with Bigg Boss most of the time? The answer is “comfort”. Whenever I was inside, just with the help of an anonymous voice, I used to forget the chaos happening inside of me. We cannot see who is Bigg Boss but his language was interesting and calming to be around. There is nothing wrong with it. My reactions to him were very genuine, and if Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia was mocking me behind my back, it’s her loss. It’s too petty to even pay attention to.”
Telling us more about her journey, she spilled the beans, “All my fans naturally wanted me to be in the top five of this season. The Bigg Buzz helmed by Krushna Abhishek, and his unit also echoed the same. I feel, more than me, they are heartbroken. MC Stan also broke my heart — my closest friend is upset with me about how I could not see he’s not my friend at all. I am sure, someone from the so-called “mandali” brainwashed him. I could have gotten Stan evicted, but I didn’t. I realised his mindset was only ‘agh’ after I came out. He was putting some superstitious pillows behind the beds of contestants who the “mandali” would like to see evicted.”
Even Tina Datta feels contrite about her infamous stint with Shalin Bhanot. She described, “His first impression swept me off my feet but little did I know, moving ahead in that journey I’ll see a Shalin who uses trickery to win this game anyhow. He was trying to maneuver me the way he wanted to. He was playing the blame game inside.”
