TJUDA begins on-duty protest over unfulfilled demands

Members of the Telangana Juniour Doctors Association (TJUDA) on Thursday began an on-duty protest over unmet demands. The doctors attended their duties while sporting black ribbons on their attire.
TJUDA president Ch G Sai Sri Harsha said, “The TJUDA has been giving representations to authorities for the past six months; However, none of the demands have been fully met. The authorities have only sent proposals to the government regarding a few demands, but there has been no action taken to fulfil them.”
TJUDA members from MGM Warangal, Osmania Medical College and other parts of Telangana participated in the protest. The association has put forward eight demands including green channel for timely release of stipends; New building for the Osmania General Hospital; New hostel building for doctors; Revised honorarium for super-speciality senior residents; Security issues at various government hospitals; Inadequate infrastructure at government medical colleges; roads in Kakatiya Medical College and 15% reservation in NEET for prospectus.

It is to be noted that the association has announced an indefinite strike from June 24 if the demands are not met.
