AP State Housing Corporation Chairman Davuluru Dorababu has said that the AP government, led by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, is giving top priority to housing for all. Under Navaratnalu and APSHC, all measures are being taken for the completion of 18.63 lakh houses on a priority basis. The APSHC Board meeting was held here on Wednesday in which the 30 lakh mega housing programme was reviewed.
Dorababu said that the government was taking steps to build houses for the poor in the capital region Amaravati and explained that CM Jagan was working hard to fulfill the dreams of about 30 lakh people of owning a house, which had never happened in any other State in the country. He said 18.63 lakh houses were under various stages of construction in the State and soon, five lakh houses would be completed. He further said that in Jagananna Colonies, 13.13 lakh houses were under construction. He stated that the construction of houses was going on in the beneficiaries’ own lands and the target was to complete the houses by March 2024.
Dorababu added that the electricity works in Jagananna Colonies were going on at a fast pace. While electricity works had started in 9,332 layouts, the works were completed in 3,485 colonies. The works will be completed soon in 5,363 colonies, and electricity meters have been supplied to 3,65,188 beneficiaries. He explained that measures were being taken to ensure that safe fresh water was supplied to every house and so far 3.60 lakh beneficiaries had been provided with good water facilities.
G. Lakshmi Sha, Managing Director of the State Housing Corporation, said that the construction of houses in Navaratnalu Pedalandariki Illu Scheme was going on at a fast pace and the directors of the organisation were visiting the layouts and sensitising the beneficiaries so that the construction of the houses could be completed quickly. He stated that the government was providing the entire infrastructure in Jagananna Colonies. So far, about 12 lakh beneficiaries have been granted loans.
The Board directors of the APSHC, Eluri Srinivasulu, K. Bhaskar Naidu, G. Sandhya and Housing Department officials were present.
