Training starts for Booth Level Officers

CEO Vikas Raj said that a series of training programmes to equip all the 34,891 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) in the state with the latest know-how on the process of preparation of electoral rolls was started on July 15.

In the first training session of this series of training programmes, District Level Master Trainers (DLMTs) from all 33 districts were trained during a one-day long session at the GHMC head office.

The DLMTs were trained on the role of the BLO and the BLO supervisor in the preparation of the electoral roll, the procedure to be followed during the 2nd Special Summary Revision (SSR), pre-revision activities to be taken up by BLOs, revision activities, electoral roll health analysis and the BLO App.

The training session was inaugurated by Vikas Raj, IAS, the CEO of Telangana.

The DLMTs will be taking up the training of Assembly Constituency Level Master Trainers (ALMTs) in their respective districts on July 18. The ALMTs will further take up the training of BLOs at the mandal level from July 19 onwards. The training programmes are scheduled to be completed by July 25.

Vikas Raj, in his keynote address, welcomed the DLMTs to the training session. He stressed the need to take the training of BLOs seriously and to ensure that all ALMTs are fully trained and equipped with the updated instructions of the ECI to ensure that these percolate down to the level of BLOs and BLO Supervisors.

He also stressed on the importance of the training in view of the general elections.

Vikas Raj laid repeated emphasis on the need to train BLOs properly to ensure the generation of an error-free electoral roll.
