A series of tremors struck Ongole on Monday, causing panic among residents who swiftly evacuated their homes. The affected areas included Vaddipalem, Vijayanagar Colony, and CRP Quarters. The tremors occurred at precisely 5:04 am.
Many people residing in these colonies expressed their experiences to the media, recounting how they observed their utensils and other household items trembling within their residences.
Fearing for their safety, alarmed individuals hastily fled their homes. No casualties or property damage have been reported thus far. It is worth noting that residents believe these tremors may be linked to the nearby granite quarries situated in Cheemakurthi and Santhanuthalapadu. Officials corroborated this claim, citing previous instances of tremors in the area.
