Must read

Malladi Vishnu, YSRCP Central constituency coordinator and former MLA, paid rich tributes to the legendary leader Vangaveeti Mohan Ranga, remembering his selfless dedication to the welfare of the poor. Speaking at a commemoration event at Janahitha Sadan in Andhra Prabha Colony, Vishnu praised Ranga for his disciplined political leadership and commitment to the people, regardless of being in power or in Opposition.
Vishnu recalled Ranga’s significant contributions, including his leadership during the 1983-1989 protests against the oppressive Telugu Desam Party government, where he led hunger strikes and faced severe repression. He highlighted Ranga’s role in standing up for democratic rights during the NTR government’s controversial policies, making Vijayawada a hub for political movements. In memory of Ranga’s tireless fight for the poor, the YSRCP government distributed land titles to 26,000 underprivileged families during the 2019-2024 term. Vishnu further mentioned the regularisation of land and house registrations for several families under government schemes.
Deputy Mayor Sree Shailaja Reddy, along with several other leaders also paid tribute, praising Ranga’s enduring legacy in the hearts of Vijayawada’s citizens. The event was attended by YSRCP corporators and supporters.
