TS allocated Rs 5,071cr for rail projects during 2024-25

Union Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that Telangana State has been sanctioned an amount of Rs 5,071 crore for the year 2024-25 during the presentation of interim budget on the floor of Parliament on Thursday. The Minister held a virtual press conference at New Delhi on Thursday and highlighted allocation pertaining to  Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States.
Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that Indian Railways has been allocated Rs 2,52,000 crore for the year 2024-25 and informed that the focus is on the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’. Efforts are being made to increase the capacity in Railways. “As part of it, three major Economic Railway Corridor projects will be implemented and as a result 40,000 kms of track will be laid in the next 6-8 years,” he added.
He informed that Telangana State has been sanctioned a whopping amount of Rs 5,071 crore for the year 2024-25. There has been a consistent increase in the funds allocation to Telangana in successive budgets in recent times. The total investment in Telangana is Rs 31,221 crore.
He also said that 142 kms of track is being laid across Telangana State every year as compared to just 70 kms per year during 2009-2014.  In the last 10 years, 414 RoBs and RuBs have been constructed. In all, 40 railway stations in the State are being redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat station scheme and 45 ‘One Station One Product’ stalls have been set up at the railway stations across the State to promote local products.
