Many Telangana Congress leaders have expressed their unhappiness over the new list of AICC members that came out on Monday. They said that the AICC gave ‘member’ posts to leaders who already have several other posts.

The AICC announced the list of elected and co-opted members of the AICC (2022). The AICC gave AICC member posts to 33 Telangana leaders under the elected category and 14 Telangana leaders under the co-opted category.

However, all the leaders who got the AICC member posts already hold one or more posts. Leaders who did not get AICC member posts have been expressing their unhappiness.

It is learnt that some leaders, who did not get any post in the TPCC, have sent a letter to AICC President Mallikarjuna Kharge expressing their displeasure at not getting AICC member posts. In their letter, the leaders urged the AICC President to check where the fault is.

It may be recalled that the Congress split vertically when the AICC announced TPCC committees into ‘Original’ and ‘Migrant’ leaders as senior leaders did not get posts.

The Congress high command sent Digvijay Singh as an observer resulting in Manickam Tagore losing the Telangana Congress affairs in-charge post. The high command also appointed Manikrao Thakre as the new in-charge in place of Manickam Tagore.

With the new dispute coming out in the Telangana Congress, the leaders who did not get any post in the party are wondering why the high command is giving posts to leaders who already have many posts.

One leader on condition of anonymity said, “We have been working hard for the party for decades but the party has been giving posts to those who have money and muscle power.

This is unbecoming of the party and party heads have to examine this issue seriously or else the party will take a hit.”
