TS govt hikes pension for disabled to Rs 4,016

The Telangana government has issued an order increasing pensions for the disabled and thereby once again displayed its unwavering commitment to public welfare.

Finance and Health Minister Harish Rao met Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to express his gratitude for the initiative.

Fulfilling his promise made at the Mancherial public meeting, KCR announced an increase of Rs 1,000 in disability pension.

All eligible beneficiaries will now receive a pension of Rs 4,016 per month in place of Rs 3,016. The new rate will be effective from this month.

The CM said that 5,11,656 persons with disabilities will benefit from the increase in pensions for the disabled, and due to the increase in pension, the disabled will get Rs 205.48 crore per month.He said that before the formation of Telangana, only 3.57 lakh disabled people were getting pensions which amounted to Rs 17 crore at the rate of Rs 500 per month per individual.

The Chief Minister said that after the formation of Telangana state, measures were taken to identify deserving disabled persons and their number increased to 5,11,656.

Telangana stands as a model for other states across the country, emphasizing the well-being of its differently-abled residents by providing the highest pensions, an impressive Rs 4,016, which is unparalleled in the country.
