The TS-IPass has given approvals to projects worth Rs 2.61 lakh crore. As on May 11, 2023, 23,065 units with a proposed investment of Rs 2,61,732 crore with an employment potential of 15,74,798 have been approved.
A total of 18,587 units with an investment of Rs 1,54,690 crore is employing 9,13,386 persons. That is, 81% of the units which have obtained approvals have commenced operations as per data released by the Telangana government.
The Government of Telangana enacted the TS-iPASS (Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and Self Certification System) Act for providing all approvals to entrepreneurs at a single point within a set time based on self-certification furnished by entrepreneurs to accelerate industrial growth and to make Telangana the favoured destination of investments.
Mega projects will get automatic approvals on submission of self-certification. All applicants will be bestowed with the right to clearance under TS-iPASS. There is a provision for imposing penalties on officers who fail to provide clearance within the set time.
The system has been appreciated all over the country and it has been treated as a best practice by the Centre.
Meanwhile, from 02-06-2014 to 31-03-2023, incentives worth Rs 3,654.57 crore were sanctioned to 25,068 proposals under T-IDEA (Telangana State Industrial Development and Entrepreneur Advancement).
Under T-PRIDE (Telangana State Programme for Rapid Incubation of Dalit Entrepreneurs) from 02-06-2014 to 31-03-2023, incentives worth Rs 1381.8 crore were sanctioned to 28,184 units promoted by SC Entrepreneurs.
Incentives worth Rs 1,448.33 crore were sanctioned to 31,057 units promoted by ST entrepreneurs and incentives worth Rs 114.64 crore were sanctioned to 2104 units promoted by PHC entrepreneurs.
