Rules out alliance with BRS, to go with K’taka formula

The Congress Election Strategy meeting held in New Delhi on Tuesday at the AICC office decided to implement the Karnataka formula in Telangana too. Former AICC president Rahul Gandhi and current president Mallikarjuna Kharge ruled out an alliance with the BRS.

Rahul warned Congress leaders that he knows who is doing what in Telangana and asked them to speak to him or to Telangana Congress in-charge Manikrao Thakre in case of differences and not to air differences openly. The party will not tolerate anyone who violates discipline, he said.

The Congress high command will take a final decision on candidates soon. All party workers have to join hands for the party, Rahul told Telangana Congress leaders. He also warned that matters in the Telangana Congress can be set right if a few leaders are suspended.

Speaking to the media after the strategy meeting, TPCC President Revanth Reddy said that the meeting discussed an action plan to take the corruption of KCR to the people.

He said that the Congress has launched an election action plan in Telangana and that the meeting discussed it in detail.The people of Telangana are yearning for change and looking towards the Congress, party president Mallikarjun Kharge said on Tuesday after chairing a meeting of Telangana unit leaders to decide the strategy for the state polls due later this year.The party high command asked TS leaders to implement some of the strategies that were tried out in Karnataka and to act strategically to ensure victory. He said that Telangana leaders would correct mistakes in the party soon.

TPCC Campaign Committee Chairman Madhu Yashki Goud said that Rahul and Kharge made it clear that the Congress will not have an alliance with the BRS. The high command also decided that the Congress will not allow the BRS to join the national alliance of opposition parties.

He condemned the campaign that was going on declaring that the Congress and the BRS are one. Madhu said that they will go ahead with the slogan, ‘Vote for KCR if you want family rule, vote for the Congress if you want people’s rule.’
