TS sizzles amid rising heat

Telangana experienced a hot day with Mahadevpur in Jayashankar Bhupalapally recording 44.5°C and Malkajgiri in Hyderabad recording 41.3°C. Most of the state experienced near or above 40 o C temperature due to heatwave conditions with dry hot winds blowing from North and Northwest.

By 9.30 am itself, Hyderabad city is recording 36-37°C and by afternoon the temperature is touching 40 o C. 

Heatwave has gripped many parts of the country. As per Skymet Weather, 148 stations in country have recorded a maximum temperature above 40 degrees C.

As per TSDPS, in Telangana maximum temperatures are expected to be in the range of 38o C to 43 oC, while the minimum temperatures could be in the range of 24o C to 27oC.

On Wednesday, Talamadu (Adilabad) recorded 44.3 o C, Keetawarigudem (Suryapet) 44.2 o C, Velgatoor (Jagityala) 44.2  C C,  Kolhapur (Nagarkurnool) 44 oC , Tadwai (Mulugu) 44 o C, Garimellapadu (Bhadradri Kothagudem), 44 o C, Kommera (Manchiryala) 43.9 o C, Chaprala (Adilabad) 43.9 o C. Bhikkanur (Kamareddy) 43.8 o C, Pajjoor (Nallagonda) 43.8 o C, Dharmasagar (Hanmakonda) 43.8 o C, Zainat (Adilabad) 43.7 o C, Old Kottagudem (Bhadradri Kottagudem) 43.7 o C, Sujatanagar (Bhadradri Kottagudem) 43.7 o C, Kondapur (Manchishtary) recorded 43.7 degrees Celsius. Also, temperatures of more than 40 degrees C have been recorded in many districts. Temperatures of more than 40 degrees C have been recorded in the twin cities of Hyderabad. The Meteorological Department has warned that the maximum temperatures will rise over the next two days.
