February is going to be a crucial month in Telangana in the election year 2023. The state is likely to witness many political moves during the month.

KCR may announce early elections if the forecasts of opposition leaders, particularly TPCC President, Revanth Reddy are true. Political parties are going to launch their moves in February keeping Assembly elections in view.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is going to inaugurate the new Secretariat on February 17 as it is his birthday. Before that, the BRS government is going to introduce the budget in the Telangana Assembly and Council. In fact, the BRS government advanced the budget session to February instead of conducting the budget session in March as per convention.

It is also learnt that KCR may inaugurate the Telangana Martyrs’ Memorial in February if work on that gets completed. BRS sources said the Chief Minister would also conduct a public meeting of the BRS in Visakhapatnam in February instead of January. Prime Minister Modi is coming to Telangana to lay the foundation stone of the Secunderabad Railway Station modernisation project on February 13. The Prime Minister would also attend a public meeting at the Parade Grounds on the same day.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah too is coming to Telangana to launch a two-day district tour. Telangana BJP President Bandi Sanjay Kumar also is planning to launch the sixth phase of his Praja Sangrama Yatra in February.

BRS leader Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy may join the BJP in February as he is preparing the ground for the same in Khammam district. But whether Ponguleti will join the BJP by organising a public meeting at Khammam or would join at the Parade Grounds meeting of the PM is not known.

The Congress is trying to bring former AICC president Sonia Gandhi or AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi to make them participate in the ‘Hath se Hath Jodo Abhiyan’ inauguration public meeting that will most probably start from Bhadrachalam town on February 6 instead of January 26. The Abhiyan will be held for 60 days across Telangana to take the message of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra to every house. The Congress will continue its moves even after the Abhiyan Yatra is over till the Assembly elections.
