The Telangana State Medical Council (TSMC) on Tuesday sought an explanation from the Matlis Hospital over training being provided to quacks by specialist doctors.
TSMC Chairman Dr Mahesh Kumar K, wrote to the Medical Director of Matlis Hospital over the issue and sought a response by January 26. “This is to inform to you that the Telangana State Medical Council has noted that an information was circulating in social medial i.e. by Whatsapp / phone messages and in other media stating that your hospital is conducting training programme for unqualified persons, i.e. Dr.Sandeep, Emergency Medicine, Dr Ravi Kumar Reddy, Cardiologist and Dr Sai Krishna, General Physician, which is illegal as per the National Medical Commission Act, 2019 & also as per the TSMC Act.”
TSMC seeks explanation from hospital on training to quacks

“As per NMC Act, 2019 & Code of Professional Conduct, Etiquette and Ethics Regulations, 2002 of NMC, which comes under unethical Act. I am herewith enclosing your pamphlet with which you have given advertisement. Hence, in view of the issue, you are hereby directed to submit your explanation by January 26, 2024 and also withdraw the training courses conducted by your hospital, failure of which the TSMC will take appropriate actions as per law,” read the letter.
