Tummala calls for speedy completion of national highway works

Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao has directed officials to immediately initiate works on the proposed flyover to be built at the entry of Suryapet from Khammam district on Hyderabad-Vijayawada national highway.
He was reviewing the progress of work of national highways with Roads and Buildings special secretary Dasari Hari Chandana here on Tuesday.
The Minister reviewed the progress of worker related to Devarapalli Green field highway, land acquisition for entry and exit of Khammam-Devarapalli-Dhamslapuram. He said that the State government would provide funds for the acquisition of land asked the official to address a letter to the National Highway Authority of India in this regard. He asked Special Secretary to take measures to launch works as early as possible.
Building of service roads from exit and entry points from Dhamslapuram along the green field highway would help regulate the traffic in Khammam city. Therefore, he asked the official to sanction service roads immediately. He also reviewed the progress of development of Khammam-Kuravi road, Khammam-Kodada road.
Dasari Hari Chandana told the Minister that Nehru Nagar-Kothagudem national highway is at the stage of inviting tenders, once the bidding process is through, the development of service roads would begin.
She told the Minister that proposals have been submitted to the Centre for development of a national highway from Chillakallu on Hyderabad-Vijayawada nantional highway X roads  to Kothagudem via Bonakallu, Wyra and Tallada.  She told the minister that the project would be  sanctioned soon.
