Krishna District Collector DK Balaji has urged the residents of Machilipatnam to maintain the city as a ‘Swachh City’ by cooperating with the Machilipatnam Municipal Corporation. He emphasized the importance of proper waste disposal and encouraged people not to dump garbage indiscriminately.
Collector Balaji held a review meeting with Municipal Commissioner Bapi Raju and Municipal Engineer Srikanth, along with other officials at the Corporation office. During the meeting, he inquired about the status of sanitation, drinking water supply, tax collection, and the corporation’s income and expenditure. Following the meeting, he inspected the sanitation conditions at Koneru Centre and engaged with the public through a microphone to gather feedback on sanitation maintenance.
Speaking on the occasion, he announced that a special sanitation drive would be conducted in all city divisions. He instructed officials to identify areas with significant garbage accumulation and to install dustbins to address these spots. He also suggested that the officials work towards making Machilipatnam a ‘Dustbin Free City’ by ensuring 100% garbage collection.
