The CBI will question Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter MLC K. Kavitha here on Sunday in connection with the Delhi excise policy scam.Sources said that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is keeping a tab on the things that will take place on Sunday. KCR is constantly keeping in touch with his daughter on every move and is preparing himself and the party accordingly.

Sources said that Kavitha will cooperate and respond to the questions asked by the CBI. They said that consultations have been held with legal experts and that Kavitha is prepared.

A day ahead of the questioning, posters supporting Kavitha were put up near her house by her supporters and party workers carrying her photo shouted slogans supporting her. One of the posters said, ‘Daughter of Fighter Will Never Fear. # We Are With Kavithakka.’

Last Tuesday the CBI informed Kavitha that a CBI team would visit her residence in Hyderabad on December 11 for an “examination” and asked her to confirm her availability on the said date and time at her residence at Banjara Hills here.

In her reply, she informed the CBI that she would be available at her residence on December 11 at 11 am.

Kavitha, who has been served with a notice by the CBI for questioning in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy scam case, recently said she will be able to meet the sleuths on any day between December 11 and 15 except December 13.

In a letter to the CBI, Kavitha said she had gone through the contents of the FIR copy as well as the complaint available on the website in connection with the case and her name did not figure anywhere in any manner whatsoever.

On December 2 the CBI issued a notice to Kavitha for questioning in the case. The probe agency had asked her to intimate a place convenient to her. After her name cropped up in a remand report filed by the Enforcement Directorate in a Delhi court on the alleged kickbacks in the ‘scam’, Kavitha said she was ready to face any probe.

The CBI on November 25 filed its first charge sheet in the case against seven of the accused.

“As per investigation so far, Vijay Nair, on behalf of AAP leaders received kickbacks of at least Rs 100 crore from a group, called the South Group (controlled by Sarath Reddy, Kavitha, and Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy) from various persons including Amit Arora,” the ED said in its remand report filed on one of the accused, Amit Arora, in a Delhi Court.
