Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed his strong disapproval of using power and intimidation to forcefully acquire properties. He remarked that such incidents, where business stakes are being forcibly taken, are unprecedented in the country’s history. Several victims of the YSRCP government poured their woes to the Chief Minister here on Wednesday.
Narrating in detail how they got cheated by the then ruling YSRCP leaders in many ways to Chandrababu, they all made a fervent appeal to the Chief Minister to order an inquiry and take stringent action against those who had taken them for a ride thus doing justice to them.
At the TDP central office here, Chandrababu accepted appeals from the public on Wednesday.
They all complained to the Chief Minister that their assets have been forcibly occupied by the YSRCP leaders after physical attacks on all of them by rowdy gangs. After giving a patient hearing to all of them, the CM promised them of a detailed probe into how atrociously the innocent people were attacked and their properties were forcibly occupied.
Chandrababu also accepted appeals from the differently-abled and senior citizens. The Chief Minister extended financial assistance to many of them.
Karempudi Abhiram of Gollapudi complained to the Chief Minister that YSRCP MLC Talasila Raghuram, with the help of Assistant Commissioner of Police Hanmantha Rao, and Police Inspector Ravindra, threatened him with dire consequences and forcibly took over his property worth over Rs 10 crore. For the sole reason that his father, Ravindra, had filed his nomination for the MPTC elections, Abhiram said that he was harassed and illegal cases filed against him. He said that he was also sent to jail for 73 days in these illegal cases.
Abhiram said that unable to digest the harassment, his father died of a heart stroke. He felt that if an inquiry is ordered into the atrocities of Talasila Raghuram, several such illegal activities will come into the open.
G Madhu of Chandragiri in Penugonda mandal of Satya Sai district told Chandrababu that his properties were forcibly occupied by the then cabinet minister, Sankara Narayana. Though he approached the local police with proper evidence, the police officials including Inspector Srihari and Sub-Inspector Basha, in turn filed cases against him and threatened him and his family members with dire consequences if they again approach the police with similar complaints, Madhu informed Chandrababu.
On top of it all, he and his wife were illegally confined in the police station for four days besides taking away Rs 38 lakh in cash and other land documents, Madhu narrated. The local Police Inspector and the SI sold some of his properties, he said and made an appeal to the Chief Minister to do justice to him.
P Suresh of Nellimarla informed Chandrababu that he was physically attacked by the local YSRCP leader, Mypadu Prasad, for obstructing illegal transport of sand from the Champa River in 2022 and in turn an illegal case was registered against him by the local police.
