Nalgonda Congress MP N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has bagged another honour from the AICC. AICC President Mallikarjuna Kharge has given a place to Uttam Kumar Reddy in the Congress Election Committee (CEC), the highest party body that announces candidates for Assembly and LS elections.
The AICC, which gave the CWC Member post to Dr N. Raghuveera Reddy from Andhra Pradesh, did not give a place to anyone from Andhra Pradesh in the CEC.
The new CEC committee members are Mallikarjuna Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Ambika Soni, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Salman Khurshid, Madhusudhan Mistry, N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, TS Singh Deo, KJ George, Preetham Singh, Mohammad Jawed, Amee Yajnik, PL Punia, Omkar Markam and KC Venugopal.
It may be recalled that the AICC had already appointed Uttam Kumar Reddy to the Screening Committee of Telangana, which will shortlist candidates contesting in the Assembly elections and send it for final approval to the high command.
The Committee members are K. Muralidharan (Chairman), Jignesh Mevani and Baba Siddiqui (members), and ex-officio members are Telangana Congress in-charge Manikrao Thakre, TPCC President Revanth Reddy, CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Nalgonda MP N. Uttam Kumar Reddy.
