Uttam undertakes a whirlwind tour of flood-hit areas by tractor

Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the repair works would be taken up on a war footing. He visited the flood-hit areas in Huzurnagar, Matampalli and some villages under Huzurnagar mandals. Huzurnagar recorded the highest rainfall in the entire state.
He inspected the drains that were damaged due to incessant rains in the limits of Huzurnagar Municipality on Tuesday. He inspected the crops submerged in rainwater. He conducted a whirlwind tour of Choutapalli, Mathampalli mandal centre, Raghunadha- palem, Gundlapalli and Chennaipalem villages under Mathampalli mandal.
Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy undertook a whirlwind tour of flood-hit areas in two mandals, travelling on a tractor to the most inaccessible areas. He assured the farmers that the government would extend all possible help to them.
Later, speaking to the media at Gundlapally in Mathampally mandal, he said that Rs 10,000 per acre compensation would be given to the farmers whose crops were damaged. He said that 10,000 houses that were partially damaged in the recent rains and 10,000 houses that were completely damaged would be constructed under the Indiramma scheme.
Uttam Kumar Reddy visited flood-hit areas in his constituency by tractor and other methods of transport to visit remote areas. Huzurnagar constituency is located on the banks of river Krishna and received the highest rainfall of 300 mm in a single day in the state on August 31.
