The AP Vigilance and Enforcement department officials inspected 128 stamp vendor shops in different districts across the State of Andhra Pradesh on Thursday, found negligence in following the norms, and warned about stern action for selling of stamps for higher prices. The V& E officials said that these inspections were carried out to ascertain information about the sale of Stamps by the stamp vendors.
The V&E officials said that the officials found that stock held and denominations of stamps were not displayed on the board. The vendors are selling Stamps within a radius of 200 meters from the Sub Registrar Office. Signatures of the customer have not been taken by the vendor while selling the stamps. Stamps selling Rs.10 to Rs.30 higher price than the face value. Stock board not displayed.
The V&E officials said that in some places, the stock of stamps is not tallied with the book balance, stamps selling out of licensed jurisdiction, the vendor is not updating the stock Register and Stock boards are not displayed. They said that checks were conducted in 24 places in Tirupati, followed by 16 in Anantapur, 11 each in Ongole and Nandyal, 10 in Guntur, 9 in Anakapalli, 8 in East Godavari, 7 in Nellore, 6 each in Kadapa and Eluru, 4 each in Annamayya and Srikakulam, 3 each in Vizianagaram and NTR, two each in West Godavari and Visakhapatnam and one in Manyam district.
