Venkaiah Naidu is versatile person, says PM Modi

Terming former vice-president M Venkaiah Naidu as a versatile person, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Venkaiah Naidu reached a high level coming from rural areas. Modi said that no one can stand before Venkaiah Naidu’s eloquence.
 The Prime Minister released three books on Venkaiah Naidu named ‘Venkaiah Naidu’s life in service’, ‘Aim and message of Venkaiah Naidu as 13th vice-president’, ‘Great leader Venkaiah Naidu’s life and journey’ on Sunday virtually. The organisers conducted a programme in this regard at Anvaya Convention Centre in Gachibowli.
Speaking on this occasion, PM Modi said that the books on Venkaiah’s life will remain an inspiration to the people and they will give direction to the people of the nation.
 The PM said that he got an opportunity to work with Venkaiah Naidu for a long time. Thousands of activists learnt a lot from Venkaiah Naidu, who waged a movement during Emergency. Venkaiah Naidu stayed in the jail for 17 months during Emergency. He left his mark in the rural and urban development department. He implemented schemes like Swatcha Bharat and Amrit Yojana efficiently. Venkaiah ran the Rajya Sabha smoothly. The nation will not forget his services. Venkaiah’s role in passing the bill of abolition of Article 370 in Rajya Sabha and his experience in running the Rajya Sabha are commendable. Venkaiah should give direction by staying healthy, the PM said.
 Venkaiah Naidu said that the Prime Minister should continue his services to the people. The Prime Minister has been moving forward with the slogan ‘Reform, perform and transform’.
He opined that the Centre should continue the free ration scheme till it was needed. The Centre should also continue skill training programmes to the youth. It is great that the Centre has been encouraging mother tongues. He said, “I am not against English language. However, all the government orders should be in local languages and then only in English. Priority will be given only after mother tongue, he said.
 Venkaiah Naidu said that the leaders, who are elected to legislative houses, should behave decently. The leaders may change their party if they did not like ideals, however, they have to leave the position they got from the quitting party, Venkaiah Naidu said.
