Congress MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has once again become a topic of discussion in the party.
Venkat’s absence at the Saroor Nagar Yuva Sangharshan Sabha attended by Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi has now become a hot topic not only in Congress circles but also in state politics.
Venkat’s camp followers said that currently he is in London. Even though he knew that Priyanka would be attending the meeting and would announce the Congress Youth Declaration, Venkat kept away from the meeting.
Now, Congress workers and political observers are discussing the reasons for Venkat’s absence from the meeting.
Venkat, who had disagreements with TPCC chief Revanth Reddy joined the Nalgonda unemployment rally in solidarity with him.
Recently, Venkat did not participate in the People’s March Padayatra organised by CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district in his Parliamentary constituency.
During the last by-election, Venkat was not active in the Congress due to events like his brother Rajagopal Reddy’s move into the BJP and Revanth’s ascension to the post of TPCC President which he was hoping for.
Recently, there were rumours that Venkat will join the BJP after meeting Prime Minister Modi and Union Ministers. However, Venkat played told the media that he had met Prime Minister Modi and Union Ministers only to discuss the development of his district.
In any case, in the context of Venkat’s absence at Priyanka’s meeting, doubts have risen among Congress workers on whether he will continue in the Congress.
