Senior actor Venkatesh, who first showcased his singing talent with the hit song Jingidi from the film Guru in 2017, is returning as a playback singer after seven years. This time, he lends his voice for a song in his upcoming film Sankranthiki Vasthunnam, directed by Anil Ravipudi and composed by Bheems Ceciroleo. The film is set to release on January 14, during the Sankranthi festival, aiming to capitalise on the Pongal holiday season.
In a behind-the-scenes video shared by the team, director Anil Ravipudi, actors Venkatesh, Aishwarya Rajesh, Meenakshi Chaudhary, producer Shirish and music director Bheems Ceciroleo spoke about this exciting development.
Originally, Ravipudi had planned to hire a popular Bollywood singer for the film’s special festival track. However, Venkatesh himself expressed a strong desire to perform the song. Known for his charisma and versatility, the actor’s enthusiasm convinced the team to go ahead with his idea.
The third track of Sankranthiki Vasthunnam is currently being filmed at Ramoji Film City (RFC). It is a vibrant festival number, choreographed by Bhanu Master, promising high energy and captivating visuals.
In the film, Venkatesh takes on the role of a former police officer. Aishwarya Rajesh plays his wife, while Meenakshi Chaudhary portrays his ex-girlfriend, adding layers to the film’s intriguing storyline. The film is being produced by Dil Raju and his brother Shirish under their banner. With the festival season fast approaching, Venkatesh’s return as a singer, paired with the film’s star-studded cast and team, has heightened anticipation among fans.
