VH asks Kavitha why BRS govt cut quota for BCs in local body elections

Senior Congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao asked BRS MLC Kavitha why the BRS government had reduced reservations for BCs in local body elections when it was in power.
Addressing the media on Saturday at the Gandhi Bhavan, VH said that Kavitha has been showering fake love on BCs suddenly. He asked Kavitha to explain why she failed to make the BRS admin’s Comprehensive Family Survey details public. “Why did the BRS government reduce reservations for BCs in local body elections when it was in power,” he asked.
VH asked Kavitha to reveal at least one thing which the BRS government had done for BCs when it was in power. He said reservations were introduced in IITs and IIMs for BCs when the Congress was in power at the Centre.
“The Congress Government in Telangana would implement all its assurances given to the people. Kavitha, KTR and Harish Rao should settle their own fight. The Congress fought for the Indira Park Dharna Chowk when the BRS government abolished it. However, BRS leaders are using it now,” VH said.
He said the Congress changed the name of Pragathi Bhavan as Jythirao Phule Praja Bhavan and that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had already said that he would accept the opposition’s good suggestions. Nobody knows where opposition leader KCR is now, he added.
“Development is Congress culture. It was the Congress which gave the Telangana state,” VH said.
Demanding that the Centre should conduct a caste census across the nation, VH said the Congress government is committed to the welfare of weaker sections and would do everything for the development of BCs.
He said the Congress government is committed to the Kamareddy BC Declaration and is ready to increase reservations for BCs to 42 percent in local body elections.
He said the BRS may have the right to criticise the BJP but the BRS has no right to criticise the Congress as the Congress had made leaders from BC groups its party presidents.
