Reacting to former Rajya Sabha Member KVP Ramachandra Rao’s demand to consider him at least as a half Telanganaite, senior TS Congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao suggested that KVP should give up all thoughts of coming to Telangana.
He also suggested to KVP that it is better for him to work in Andhra Pradesh as the Congress is weak there.
VH asked KVP whether he had forgotten that he had displayed placards opposing a separate Telangana State during the Telangana Movement.
Meanwhile, former Union Minister Renuka Choudhary criticised YSRTP President YS Sharmila for demanding a ticket to contest from Palair.
“Sharmila may ask for anything as there is no tax on asking. But one should be eligible to ask something. What eligibility does Sharmila has to ask for the Palair ticket? Did Sharmila remember only now that she is a daughter-in-law of Telangana? I am a daughter of Telangana if Sharmila is a daughter-in-law of Telangana. My opinion is also important in inducting Sharmila into the Congress. Is Sharmila joining alone or are others also joining the Congress with her? Sharmila discussed with Sonia and Rahul about merging the YSRTP with the Congress but Sonia and Rahul told her nothing,” she added.
