Shadnagar witnessed a massive protest led by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) following allegations of a conspiracy to harm Hindu religion. VHP Andhra Pradesh and Telangana State unit leader, Bandaru Ramesh, voiced concern over “deliberate attempt to denigrate Hinduism.”
The protest centered on the alleged desecration of the revered Tirumala laddu in which ‘animal fat’ was allegedly found.
A large rally was organised in Shadnagar town, culminating in the burning of an effigy of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Addressing the gathering, Ramesh accused the a section of people of undermining Hindu practices, particularly within the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).
He further alleged that there was a conspiracy to denigrate the religion, including appointment of a Christian as TTD chairman and the establishment of an Islamic University in Chandragiri, near Tirumala.
He also raised concern over the growing presence of non-Hindu influences in Srisailam, calling for Hindus to unite in defense of their faith.
