In an exclusive chat with The Pioneer, actor Neil Bhatt, who was recently at the Bigg Boss house, gets candid about his stint in the house, speaks up in favour of his wife, and more.
With the Bigg Boss season 17 nearing its grand finale, the intensity of the brawls or the evictions of the contestants, do not fail to amaze the audience. Undoubtedly, this ongoing season had its own spins and twins when it came to the eviction. Well, Neil Bhatt was one of the housemates getting evicted one after the other in just a week.
During a feature interview with The Pioneer, he talks about his experience living in the house and expresses being occupied. Also, he remarks on the conflicts of the other participants, pointing out Abhishek’s isolation too. Check out the exclusive interview for more details!
“Men understand too late that we shouldn’t make jokes about our wives. This has happened to me quite a few times, even at stand-up comedy shows and among our social groups. I object to it! We have normalized this so effortlessly,” Neil recalls Vicky Jain attempting to make a joke about his wife on national television.
The actor simultaneously speaks up in favour of his wife, “It was rather innocent to begin with. Since I knew him before the show, I am aware of his cheerful disposition. I decided to let it go. It wasn’t occurring every day either. However, one day it got to my wife’s nerves, and we were both at our breaking point. I had to speak out for my wife because she was being degraded by it! Aishwarya was momentarily taken aback and wondered, ‘Why am I not barging in?’’’
You now understand that! Neil further states, “There’s a method to dealing with problems. My attitude shifts. Without any prior knowledge of Vicky, I would have definitely charged at him. I therefore wanted to pause and consider the situation. I initially told him to stop! He just wasn’t stopping, and I didn’t want to cause a scene, on sometimes, though, you have to take necessary action.” Regarding the popular perception of the couple, he stated, “Regarding my wife’s disdain toward me, there is nothing to say. I haven’t even watched the footage! Additionally, since I am aware of our past interactions in the show, I don’t even think it’s necessary to be watched. It was presented without context! The other couple initially tried to agitate my wife. I don’t think my wife should be upset all the time! But even so, I didn’t lose my cool since I’m not their puppet. She began to control herself beyond what was reasonable because we wanted to handle everything with the highest decorum. Thus, even the scene in which my wife is shown snapping at me was really a manifestation of Ankita Lokhande’s piling up inside her.” Neil declares that everything between the spouses is absolutely natural. Aishwarya immediately realised that she had gotten too angry with him, and they didn’t continue fighting. He also declared that there was nothing about his wife that he couldn’t manage! The outside keyboard warriors blew this idiocy out of proportion. Neil believed that they were seeing a tape without any context anyhow. Only the outburst was displayed.
“Whether or not the other couple is featured in this season has never really mattered to us. It was not because to them that we were in the show! Vicky continued to repeat his inappropriate behavior, but later on, he apologised to me for it. At last, I snapped and stopped talking to him! Vicky had a habit of counting people as votes while they were in the house, so if we had given in, we were just two more of his votes. However, we didn’t! It’s unfortunate that he broke his promise when he phoned me before going to the show,” disclosed Neil.
Neil hinted at Vicky’s behavior toward Ankita and how disrespectful is he at this point. “I wasn’t even seen as a rival by him! However, I saw every competitor as a rival since the producers thought they were good enough to include in the show. Vicky was merely itching to be rid of me. What a hypocrite he is,” adds Neil.
One of the very few contestants in the show’s history to act in a servile manner toward the host and makers, Neil offers his thoughts on this behavior, “I’m not a guy who always says yes. Contestants sometimes tend to blur the distinction between showing respect and becoming a yes-man. My behaviour has always shown that I have a great deal of respect for the show and Salman Khan. I have consistently defended my arguments; I didn’t do anything that the makers attempted to imply.”
Although they had agreed to be alone, it was still a terrific experience to participate in the show together. Unfortunately, his clips were cut, so as soon as he left the house, he realised that he looked incredibly boring because Aishwarya had left. To label him uninteresting is a inaccurate appraisal of the people he interacts with, he felt!
Conversely, although we can see his wife getting a lot of online hate, Neil completely rejects this idea and asserts, “That’s not the right distinction to make. The media seems to be focusing solely on certain comments! Media outlets like perusing critical remarks. They conveniently avoid the positivity that we are receiving. I was unaware that there was such a thing as a “green flag” and that it was something the outside world valued about us. There’s more to this than meets the eye. The other pair, uses PR gimmicks to make disparaging remarks about us. Additionally, because they have the reach to do so, it’s an extremely potent PR apparatus. They either attempted to elevate them or denigrate us. Everybody knows how paid bots operate!”
