With the upcoming elections on the horizon, V. Vijayasai Reddy, national general secretary of YSRCP and parliamentary party leader, has returned to his previous style of delivering sharp and critical remarks against the opposition.
Until recently, Vijayasai Reddy was highly active on social media, specifically targeting the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and its president, N. Chandrababu Naidu. His comments towards Chandrababu and his son Lokesh were often harsh, occasionally even resorting to abusive language. However, in recent months, his tone had considerably softened, leading to a period of inactivity on social media.
His tweets were primarily focused on official programs and commentary on decisions made by the central government. It is believed that his appointment as the Rajya Sabha panel chairperson and his inclusion in various parliamentary committees prompted a shift towards a more dignified approach.
Vijayasai Reddy has now reverted to his previous style of making cutting and pointed remarks, this time targeting Naidu, Lokesh, and other TDP leaders. On Saturday, he criticised Naidu for allegedly promoting a fake character named Swathi Reddy on social media, who made vulgar comments against YSRCP leaders.
He raised suspicions that the so-called Swathi Reddy might actually be Swetha Chowdary, a Kamma by name.
“Instead of resorting to a dirty war by associating the Reddy surname with a Kamma woman like Swathi Chowdary, why don’t you add the Reddy surname to either yourself or your son, Mr. Babu?” questioned Vijayasai Reddy.
In a subsequent tweet, he added, “Babu, known for his shameless lies, has now become the epitome of foul politics. Henceforth, his name should be Kota Swathi Muthyam Chowdary.” It appears that the YSRCP is growing frustrated with the extensive trolling and offensive remarks originating from an anonymous individual in the United States, operating under the Twitter handle Swathi Reddy.
AP Mahila Commission chairperson Vasireddy Padma stated, “This person is likely Swetha Chowdary, and she has been engaging in indecent conversations with the encouragement of Naidu.”
