Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy assured the Telangana Village Revenue Officers Joint Action Committee (VROs JAC) that the Congress government will restore the Village Revenue System again.
He said that the government will set up a committee for examining issues regarding this. The Minister attended the Telangana Revenue Employees thanksgiving and release of JAC’s New Year dairy at the Chandra Reddy Garden in Kompally on Tuesday.
Addressing the meeting, Ponguleti said that the problems of VROs and VRAs are heard wherever he goes. He opined that the revenue system should be revived if one wants to implement 6-guarantees to ensure good governance.
The Minister assured that the Congress government will restore the abolished Village Revenue System by appointing a committee.
He also assured that compassionate appointments would be taken up for 178 VRO families immediately. He alleged that the BRS government intentionally destroyed the Revenue Department and abolished the Village Revenue System.
Alleging that land encroachments took place through the Dharani Portal, Ponguleti said that the Congress government will restore all records to see that not a single yard of government land is encroached upon by others.
He said that the BRS government troubled Tahsildars by not sanctioning vehicle allowances and medical bills of other revenue employees.
He said that the BRS government passed time by not paying salaries to VRAs. However, the Congress government issued orders to give salaries and ID cards to VRAs.
He said that the government will solve the problems by inviting the employee union leaders and appealed to the revenue employees to provide good governance.
Telangana Revenue Employees Services Association (TRESA) President and Secretary Vanga Ravinder Reddy and Secretary Goutham Kumar said that governance became a problem in the revenue system with the removal of the village Revenue system.

VROs JAC president Golkonda Sathish said that their association will strive hard to bring back VROs to the revenue department and inject lost confidence among them.
