Must read

Telangana Planning Board Vice-Chairman B Vinod Kumar on Wednesday assured the farmers that the State government would extend all help to farmers in distress.

Vinod Kumar visited the district and inspected the paddy procurement centre at Nagaram village under Konaraopet mandal. Interacting with farmers at the procurement centre, he assured them that the government would purchase rain-soaked paddy too at the minimum support price which is being extended to the normal produce.

He said that the government would procure every grain of paddy produced in the State. Every farmer, who lost his crop due to hailstorms, would get compensation at the rate of Rs 10,000 per acre. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has already pledged his support to the farmers in distress.

He regretted that the Congress and the BJP have been politicising the natural disaster too. He felt that the opposition should have supported the efforts of the government to help the farmers in distress.
