Planning Board Vice-Chairman and MLA Malladi Vishnu has said that the State government is giving high priority to the laying of roads under the leadership of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Vishnu on Monday inaugurated the newly-constructed road in 57th Division of New Rajarajeswari Peta with an estimated cost of Rs 49.65 lakh along with Deputy Mayor Sree Sailaja Reddy and local corporator Isarapu Devi Rajaramesh. They viewed the photo exhibition Nadu-Nedu displayed at the inaugural site.
Speaking on the occasion, Malladi Vishnu alleged that during the last five years of TDP rule, the development of Vijayawada was neglected. But after YS Jagan Mohan Reddy became the chief minister, special focus was put on the development of the city and allocated funds for the development works. It was revealed that the foundation stones for the construction of roads were laid and the Padmavati enclave and Lakshmi enclave roads were completed within the stipulated time. Also, during the last three and a half years in the division Rs 3.69 crore of development works have been undertaken. On this occasion, he reiterated that under the direction of Chief Minister YS Jagan, the Central Constituency is progressing on the development path.
