Quthbullapur MLA KP Vivekanand met with Hyderabad Metro Rail MD NVS Reddy at the Hyderabad Metro Rail Bhavan in Begumpet and submitted a request to extend Metro services to Quthbullapur as part of the Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-2 expansion.
During the meeting, Vivekanand emphasised the rapid development in Quthbullapur, which lies to the north of Hyderabad and the daily commuting needs of the area’s residents. He highlighted that thousands of employees travel daily from Quthbullapur, Suchitra, Kompally, IDPL, Chintal, Shapur Nagar, Jeedimetla, Suraram, and Dundigal to various parts of the city.
Vivekanand proposed two key Metro routes for the extension. The first route would connect Gandi Maisamma to Bharat Nagar Metro Station via Suraram, Jeedimetla, Shapur Nagar and Balanagar Chowrasta. The second route would link Medchal to Secunderabad via Kompally, Suchitra and Bowenpally.

In his request, Vivekanand urged that Quthbullapur be given priority in the Metro expansion plans, allowing residents to travel swiftly to distant parts of the city. The Metro extension, he noted, would ease traffic congestion and improve the overall quality of life for commuters.
