Visakhapatnam MP M Sribharat has called for a comprehensive list of challenges faced by industrialists to bring them to the attention of concerned ministries, intending to facilitate effective government solutions for sustainable industry growth. He made these remarks at an event organized by the Vizag Development Council, AP Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and Tours and Travel Operators of AP, which convened industry stakeholders and potential investors. “Only through detailed feedback can we address these issues efficiently at the ministerial level,” Sribharat stated.
The event also featured the Chairman of the 20-Point Programme and Good Governance, Lanka Dinakar, who discussed Andhra Pradesh’s strides in renewable energy, stressing that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has placed a high priority on this sector. Dinakar encouraged entrepreneurs to contribute to the state’s ‘Swarnandhra@2047’ vision, highlighting North Andhra’s critical role in the state’s economic growth. “Collaboration between state and central governments is crucial for advancing our growth trajectory,” he added.
Dinakar further emphasized Visakhapatnam’s strategic importance as Andhra Pradesh’s financial hub, likening its role to Mumbai’s in India. He appealed to successful industries to support smaller, struggling units, promoting a healthier business ecosystem. “Infrastructure development not only benefits large sectors but also opens avenues for smaller industries, thus accelerating economic growth,” Dinakar observed.
O. Naresh Kumar, Chairman of the Vizag Development Council, highlighted the necessity of an investor-friendly environment to foster industrial growth in Andhra Pradesh. According to Kumar, the event’s purpose was to bring entrepreneurs’ challenges to the forefront and collaboratively develop a strategic action plan. “An investment-friendly climate is essential for industrial progress,” he noted.
Highlighting the maritime sector’s job potential, AP Maritime Board Chairman Damacharla Satyanarayana announced that 4.5 lakh of the planned 20 lakh jobs for youth will come from maritime opportunities, reflecting its significant role in the state’s economic agenda.
Chairman of AP Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) N. Balaji reiterated the corporation’s commitment to addressing stakeholder concerns and promoting tourism growth. “We are open to feedback and dedicated to strengthening tourism, which has been neglected in recent years,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the AP MSME Development Corporation, T. Siva Sankara Rao, discussed a new MSME policy designed to address previously overlooked aspects, aiming to drive sector growth and resilience. The event attracted various industry leaders, including Tours and Travels Association of AP President K. Vijay Mohan and AP Adventure Association President Tarun Kakani, who contributed to discussions on investment opportunities in Andhra Pradesh.
