VMC Commissioner reviews Dasara festival arrangements

Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) Commissioner HM Dhyanachandra has directed officials to ensure all necessary arrangements are in place for the upcoming ‘Dasara Sarannavaratri’ festivities at Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam. He also urged them to take appropriate measures to avoid any lapses in providing facilities to the devotees.
As part of his city-wide inspections, Commissioner Dhyanachandra visited several areas, including the Vinayaka Temple, Ratham Centre, Canal Road, and other locations on Saturday, to review the preparations for the festival.
Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner said the VMC would provide 32 lakh water packets across 26 key areas to ensure adequate drinking water supply. Additionally, arrangements are being made for 150 temporary toilets in eight prominent locations. He also mentioned that six cloakrooms will be set up for the convenience of devotees. Commissioner Dhyanachandra further directed the officials to conduct field inspections as per the plan to ensure seamless arrangements throughout the nine-day festival, ensuring devotees face no inconvenience.
VMC Chief Medical Officer Dr P Ratnavali, SE Rammohan, Zonal Commissioner Ramya Keerthana, EE Prasad, and other officials were present during the inspection.
