V’wada girl bags gold medal at world meet

Matrapu Jessy Raj, a student of NSM Public School in Vijayawada and a resident of Mangalagiri, excelled in World Skate Oceania Artistic Skating Championship and Pacific Cup Artistic Open Invitation Competition held at the TSB Stadium in New Plymouth, New Zealand. The 13-year-old girl won a gold medal securing 31.98 points in the World Skate Oceania Artistic Skating Championship.
She competed with children from Australia, Brazil, China, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand and other countries. She represented the Indian team in these competitions.
Andhra Pradesh Roller Skating Association secretary Thomas Chowdary, and Coach Simhadri congratulated Jessy Raj for winning a gold medal.
The competitions will be conducted from June 13 to 17.
