‘Walking down the streets of Paris feels like stepping into a movie’

Must read

For Aisha Sharma, travelling isn’t just about visiting new destinations—it’s about immersing herself in different cultures, drawing inspiration from unique experiences, and returning home with a new perspective. “Walking down the streets of Paris feels like stepping into a movie,” she says, recounting her trip. “The most exciting thing about Paris for me is its culture. It’s so multicultural. There’s inspiration in every corner of the city and every work of architecture has a story to tell.”
For Aisha, visiting Paris was a long-cherished dream. She wanted to take her time exploring the city like a local, savouring its beauty and rhythm without rushing through it. Her journey took her to some of Paris’ most iconic and charming spots. Among her favorites was La Maison Rose, a picturesque café known
for its rosy façade and cozy atmosphere. She also highly recommends the Bateaux Parisiens cruise, which offers a unique perspective of Paris from the Seine River. “Dining at La Société in Saint-Germain des Prés was another highlight,” she shares, mentioning the escargots as a must-try. Her explorations also led her to Location de Barques du Lac Daumesnil, where she enjoyed renting a boat to experience a more tranquil side of Paris. And, of course, Aisha couldn’t resist the allure of Parisian bakeries.
“You can’t beat the boulangeries of Paris! My favourite is La boulangerie du Chef Christophe Michalak,” she says.
Aisha believes that every destination has the power to change you if you’re open to the experience. “Places change you forever if you allow them to. Paris has impacted me greatly, and I think once I get back, I won’t be the same individual. That’s the beauty of travel—it fills you with inspiration and helps you grow like never before.”
As someone who loves to travel, Aisha is always prepared for her adventures. Her travel essentials include sunscreen, skincare products, perfume, a travel adapter, her journal, a credit card and medicines. For her, these items are non-negotiable, ensuring she feels comfortable and confident wherever she goes. When asked about her dream destinations, Aisha mentions Tahiti as a place she’d love to visit, especially for a passion project. Though she hasn’t been there yet, the island’s serene beauty and unique culture have captured her imagination.
Aisha describes herself as an easygoing traveler who prefers to experience places like a local. “I like to explore, slow down and soak in as much as I can,” she explains. She enjoys picking up a few phrases in the local language and connecting with people on a deeper level. For her, travel isnot about ticking off tourist attractions but about truly understanding and appreciating the essence of a place.
While she loves exploring new destinations, Aisha also dreams of settling down in the countryside someday to embrace the simplicity of slow living. “At some point in my life, I’d love to move somewhere quiet and enjoy the slow life,”
she says. As for how she chooses her travel destinations, Aisha shares that it’s a mix of spontaneity and planning. Annual trips to the United States to visit family are pre-planned, but other destinations are chosen based on her need for inspiration and rejuvenation.
Aisha Sharma’s approach to travel is a reflection of her personality—thoughtful, inspired, and deeply curious about the world around her. Her journeys remind us of the transformative power of exploration and the endless stories waiting to be discovered in every corner of the globe.
