MLC Kavitha on Wednesday addressed a media conference at the BRS office in Peddapalli, declaring that the BRS silver jubilee celebrations would be an emotional moment for every Telangana citizen who believes in the movement’s legacy.
Highlighting Peddapalli’s role in the Telangana struggle, especially the Singareni workers’ strike that shook Delhi, Kavitha said, “This land has always stood at the forefront. Even during the agitation, when Singareni workers struck work, the tremors were felt in Delhi.” She called BRS the only party that has stood strong for twenty-five years and said the party is intertwined with the identity of every Telangana citizen.
“Those who once mocked us found shelter under the pink flag. Telangana stood number one in the country during our ten-year rule,” she asserted, adding that the BRS flag is etched into the state’s modern history. She appealed to people from every village in Peddapalli to attend the Warangal Sabha, calling it a once-in-a-generation event — a Telangana Kumbh Mela that would remain etched in the state’s political memory.
Slamming the Congress government, Kavitha said, “They robbed Rythu Bandhu, made farmers feel helpless, and now are pushing them to fear even sowing seeds. When untimely rains hit during our rule, we visited the fields and compensated farmers. Why is Sridhar Babu silent now?”
She questioned the cancellation of Group-1 exams and accused the Congress government of bringing in non-locals again despite the Telangana movement being rooted in local identity. “KCR brought GO 55 to protect youth. This government brought GO 29 to snatch away their futures,” she said, hitting out at what she called ‘reverse governance’.
Kavitha warned that Congress is once again working to privatise Singareni. “Deputy CM Bhatti is selling it piece by piece. Half the profits are being given away, and workers are being betrayed,” she alleged, claiming that even with 8+8 MPs, the state hasn’t received a single rupee.
She also took aim at Revanth Reddy, saying, “Till date, the Chief Minister hasn’t even said ‘Jai Telangana’. Gurukul schools are being destroyed, and the state is being driven backwards.”
Korukanti Chander, also speaking at the meeting, said that discussions about the upcoming Warangal public meeting are happening in every village and that Kavitha has become a symbol of Telangana’s culture on the global stage. He accused Congress of winning power through false propaganda and said, “They couldn’t repair a pillar, but they dried out an entire irrigation project.”
Both leaders appealed for a massive turnout at the BRS silver jubilee meeting on April 27 to showcase the party’s strength and spirit.
