“Modi doesn’t want to recognise Telangana due to his petty politics. The PM doesn’t have the dignity to compliment. We have no hope in this Central Government. We will ensure that Modi is voted out in the next elections,” Industries Minister KT Ramarao said.
“What is happening in Manipur is horrible. We must hang our heads in shame. These are occasions when you would want to shed ambivalence and stand with the Union Government. But the same spirit must be shown by GoI too,” KTR added.
He was presenting the Abhay Tripathi Memorial Lecture on ‘Challenges of Being a Young State’ at the MCRHRDI in Hyderabad.
Speaking about PM he said, “As CM Modi ji opposed making an active politician the Governor, but what happened in Telangana.
The BJP President of Tamil Nadu is the Governor of TS and she brought politics into the Raj Bhavan.”
He said, “I may also change if I go to the Centre. It is a problem of the role and not the person.”
Abhay Tripathi (1961-2021) was an IAS officer of the 1986 batch belonging to the Andhra Pradesh cadre who served in various key positions in the State government and at the Centre.
He said the BRS Government will aim to give water to Hyderabad 24×7 like First World countries and sell electricity to other states.During his lecture, KTR highlighted the numerous challenges faced by Telangana after its formation in 2014. These challenges included issues with water sharing, power distribution, division of institutions and employees, lack of data, and non-cooperation from the Centre.
“Stronger States make a stronger nation. If India has to achieve its dream of becoming a First World country, politicians in power have to confine themselves to one year of politics and focus on economics for the rest of their five-year term,” he said.
KTR said that under the leadership of KCR, Telangana made determined efforts to overcome challenges and achieved unprecedented development. This remarkable achievement was made possible by adhering to fundamentals and prioritizing the needs of Telangana.
KYR spoke at length about the rapid strides that Telangana has made in the last nine years in various sectors.
