Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu declared on Saturday that his life ambition is to build a poverty-free society, emphasising that welfare is possible only if wealth is created.
Naidu made this statement while attending the Ananta Sesha Stapana (installation of eternal relics) ceremony at Hare Krishna Gokula Kshetra in Kolanukonda, Tadepalli, Amaravathi. He received a traditional welcome with Purna Kumbha by the temple trustees and the chakras.
Addressing the religious gathering at the temple, the CM expressed that the presence of charitable organizations instils confidence among people to uphold and protect dharma. He praised the Hare Krishna Movement for its faith in executing programs perfectly and noted that ISKCON also excels in performing such activities. The CM lauded Madhu Pandit Dasa for his dedication to his beliefs and policies.
Highlighting the contribution of highly educated individuals, Naidu mentioned that the Hare Krishna Movement includes at least 50 individuals from prestigious IITs, and ISKCON also has IITians who have dedicated their lives to preserving Indian culture and traditions. He opined that without temples or holy places, the world might face higher crime rates, overwhelming the prison system.
“Everyone, including scientists, doctors, industrialists, and the judiciary, offers prayers to the Almighty for at least two minutes before starting their duties. Even ISRO scientists pray before launching rockets,” the Chief Minister remarked.
Naidu acknowledged the Hare Krishna Movement’s contributions beyond spiritual services, mentioning their efforts in human services. He noted that the organization is constructing a temple at Kolanukonda on 6.5 acres. Reflecting on his promotion of Information Technology (IT) 25 years ago, he observed that Indians have since become IT experts and moved to various countries.
The Chief Minister reiterated the State Government’s commitment to support those working for societal welfare. He extended his appreciation to the management of Akshaya Patra for providing quality meals to 22 lakh people daily across several states. Naidu also mentioned that the maintenance of Anna Canteens had previously been handed over to Akshaya Patra.
“We will soon relaunch these Anna Canteens, which were closed by the previous government. My Government will always support Hare Krishna Gokulam and ISKCON, offering all kinds of cooperation,” Naidu affirmed.
