West Godavari district Collector P Prasanthi said that West Godavari district has got Rs 60,76,818 under the Videshi Vidya Deevena scheme.
A programme was held here on the occasion of release of Videshi Vidya Deevena scheme.
Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy released Rs 41.59 crore towards Videshi Vidya Deevena benefiting 390 students pursuing overseas education and Rs.100.50 lakh towards Jagananna Civil Services Protsahakam (incentive) benefiting 106 civil service aspirants pursuing UPSC examinations, totaling to Rs. 42.60crore on Wednesday.
Speaking on this occasion, the District Collector said that the state government is supporting the students who are pursuing at the world’s top universities for higher education and providing assistance and encouragement to those studying cavils.
The Collector said that it is a golden opportunity for the students who are pursuing higher studies in foreign countries and she asked the students to take advantage of this opportunity.
Collector P Prashanthi said that those who have achieved good education in foreign countries and have risen to a high level should provide good services to the village, district and state.
The Collector released a replica of a cheque on the occasion. DRO B Srimannarayana Reddy, District Social Welfare office K Shobha Rani, other officials and some students and their parents among those who were present.
