The National Wildlife Board has approved 23 pending proposals in a recent meeting at Delhi.
This includes the long-awaited Lakshmipur lift irrigation project in Telangana. The Wildlife Board has given approvals for the Lakshmipur Lift Irrigation (Khanapur range) scheme, which is based on the Kadem project in Nirmal district. The proposals of the Irrigation Department have been approved by the Wildlife Board as per the rules of the Forest Department.
Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Head of forest force (PCCF, HOFF) RM Dobriyal, who was present at the meeting, said that the Centre has agreed to divert 3.17 hectares of forest land for this project.
In addition to this, the National Wildlife Board has approved 11 proposals related to the construction and widening of roads in terrorism-affected districts.
