Indiramma houses will be given to all poor people, Revenue Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said.
He said the Congress Government will construct houses for all the eligible poor in the next four years in a phased manner as per the party’s assurance given during elections.
Addressing the gathering after releasing the Telangana State Housing Construction Employees’ diary and calendar at the Ministers’ Quarters here on Sunday, Ponguleti said the government will work in tune with the hopes of the people and that employees should also work in tune with the government.
“The BRS government had weakened the Housing Department which constructs houses for the poor. Moreover, the BRS government merged the Housing Department with other departments and closed it down. The Congress Government is moving step by step to restore the Housing Department,” he said.
He said the government has provided a system for the construction of houses and the selection of beneficiaries.
He said the government had reappointed 326 employees and strengthened the Housing Corporation.
He said the Congress government will strive hard to bring light into the lives of the poor in Indiramma Raj.
He appealed to the employees to extend their cooperation to the government to construct houses for the poor under the Rs 5 lakh scheme.
Employees Union State President Gavva Ravinder Reddy, General Secretary Boggula Venkata Rami Reddy, senior leader Kandi Ravinder Reddy and others attended the function.
