“We have to bear and grin it, whatever harassment is meted to us because we are in power,” said Minister for Civil Supplies Gangula Kamalakar on Friday. He made it clear that such a stance is necessary to protect the interests of the State.
Speaking at the TRS district unit meeting, the Minister stressed the need to endure an unpleasant situation while remaining good-natured despite provocations by the Congress and BJP. The TRS is in power and that is why those in the ruling party have to endure the insults, he elaborated.
The TRS was turned into a national party and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao launched Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) to fulfil the aspirations of people at the national level, Kamalakar said. He promised to provide protection to party activists from external forces.
In the United Andhra Pradesh, the people suffered in silence and the farmworkers used migrate to city like Mumbai and also to Dubai in search of a livelihood. The once-productive farmlands had been turned into barren lands at the time when the State remained united. But in the new State of Telangana, with the construction of Kaleshwaram project, the barren lands became arable, he said.
He cautioned the people against falling prey to ‘malicious propaganda’ by the Andhra parties. He referred to Y S Sharmila floating YSRTP and Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu trying to gain a foothold in the State. Apart from them, A K Paul, too, has made a debut in the State, he observed. If they were allowed to gain support in the State, they would steal the water from the State. He exhorted the party to strive hard to strengthen the TRS to protect the interests of the State.
Telangana State Planning Board Vice-President B Vinod Kumar stressed the need to wage a war against the parties which were bent upon harming the interests of the Sate. Development of the State can be ensured under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
He exhorted the party activists to repulse the ‘malicious propaganda’ launched by the opposition. He called upon people to teach a bitter lesion to the Congress and BJP which adopted ‘anti-people’ policies. The Narendra Modi government has been robbing the poor to help the corporates. He referred to the Central government’s bid to sell off public sector undertakings like LIC.
TRS Karimnagar district unit president G V Ramana Rao, MLAs Rasamayi Balaishan and S Ravishanker, MLC Koushik Reddy and others were present.
