BRS circles and political observers are waiting for Monday to know the Supreme Court’s decision on the petition filed by BRS MLC Kavitha who is facing allegations in the Delhi liquor scam. Will Monday turn out to be crucial for Kavitha’s future?
Kavitha filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the summons issued to her by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the Delhi liquor scam. The Supreme court said that the petition filed by Kavitha will be heard on March 24 and later it was posted to March 27.
The future of Kavitha and further action by the ED against Kavitha depend on the decision of the Supreme Court on the petition filed by Kavitha.
BRS circles are in confusion about whether the Supreme Court will pronounce its decision on Monday or it will post for hearing on some other day. The ED hopes that the Supreme Court’s decision will be in its favour in the Kavitha case.
Now, Kavitha as well as the BRS are having double tension. One is what will be the Supreme Court’s decision on the petition filed by Kavitha and the other is if the Supreme Court’s decision favours the ED what will be the next step.
Political circles strongly feel after the latest national political developments in Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s issue the Centre will not spare Kavitha in the Delhi liquor case. They think that the arrest of Kavitha in the Delhi liquor scam is certain but when the ED arrest her is not known.
Kavitha has already appeared before the ED twice and ED officials gathered information from her. If the ED summons Kavitha asking her to appear before them again after the Supreme Court’s decision the ED may arrest her.
After Rahul’s issue, all opposition parties have joined hands. If anything happens to Kavitha in the Delhi liquor scam the opposition will join hands with the BRS to launch a protest against the Centre.
Meanwhile, opposition parties are waiting for the Supreme Court’s decision on the petition filed by them on the misuse of Central investigation agencies by the BJP.
